“A Class Apart” airs on PBS 23rd February

by on Feb.15, 2009, under PBS: American Experience

Camino Bluff Productions presents an American Experience event:

“A Class Apart” brings to life the early struggles of Mexican Americans against the Jim Crow-style discrimination targeted against them throughout the American Southwest. The film is built around the remarkable tale of an underdog band of Texas lawyers whose landmark 1954 Supreme Court case recognized the rights of Mexican Americans to full civic participation and helped pave the way for a civil rights movement that is still very much alive today.

Directed by Carlos Sandoval and Peter Miller, Edited by Aaron Vega, Associate Editor Paul Docherty
